NSF proposal funded
Our proposal on studying assembly of nanoparticles in polymer
stacks, in collaboration with the Tao group, got accepted for funding by the
CMMI program at NSF.
July 2016
Dan wins study-abroad scholarship
Dan is awarded the prestigious Southern California
Studying Abroad scholarship, a merit-based scholarship to encourage outstanding
Taiwanese students to pursue advanced studies in the United States. Many
congratulations, Dan !!
Gaurav's new review article
Gaurav's didactic review on models for recovering the
energy landscape of conformational transitions from single-molecule pulling
experiments appears online in the journal Molecular Simulation as part of
a special issue on Free Energy Simulations. It was quite a pleasant surprise to
learn that Prof. Martin Karplus, the 2013 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry,
mentioned our work in the Preface of this issue.
June 2016 SDSC grant awarded Our group is awarded computing time on the powerful XSEDE supercomputer
at the San Diego Supercomputer Center for carrying out large-scale MD
simulations of DNA- and polymer-based nanomaterials.
May 2016 Gaurav heads east coast
Gaurav leaves for Boston for a 2-month long sabbatical at the
Broad Institute (collaboration between Harvard and MIT).
April 2016 Sam's new paper Sam's paper on predicting the mechanical properties of organic
semiconducting polymers using coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations gets
accepted for publication in Macromolecules. Congratulations,
Sam!
March 2016 NIH proposal funded
Our proposal on linking kinetics, subunit coordination, structure
of the T4 DNA Packaging Motor in collaboration with the Smith and Chemla labs
gets accepted for funding from the NIH R01 program.
AFOSR proposal funded
Our proposal on high-performance semiconducting
elastomers, in collaboration with the Lipomi and Ong labs, gets accepted for
funding from the Air Force.
February 2016 Gi-Moon's new paper Gi-Moon's paper uncovering fundamental differences in the
conformational free energy landscape of mononucleosomes and dinucleosomes gets
accepted for publication in Physical Review E. Congratulations,
Gi-Moon!
Chai's new paper
Chai's paper introducing a computational approach for
extracting dynamical parameters of nanoparticle assembly from analysis of
disjointed images of polymer-nanoparticle composites gets accepted for
publication in Physical Review E. Congratulations, Chai!
January 2016 Sam's new paper Sam's paper on metallic nanoislands on graphene in collaboration with
the Lipomi lab gets accepted for publication in Nano Letters.
Congratulations, Sam!
