Textbook: Frank M. White, McGraw-Hill. Fluid
Mechanics, Third Edition 1994, Chapters 1-6. Optional:
An Album of Fluid Motion, 1982, Parabolic Press, by
Milton Van Dyke (photographs of fluids in motion). Both
available in the bookstore.
Grading: Midterm exams given on July 10 and July 24 and
will count 20% each. Weekly homework sets are due at the
start of class the following Monday, or at the Final for the
last set, and count 15%. Two design projects count 5%
each. The final exam is on Wednesday, July 31, 5-7:50pm
(in WLH 2111), and will count 35%. Discussion of
homework is permitted but copying is strictly forbidden.
