Welcome to STPA 35, Society and the Sea, Fall 2003
Classes are 8-9:20 on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Center Lecture Hall 222.

Please write a clear, scientific
report of your term project. Try not to exceed about 10 pages.
If you can write a shorter report that gets across your findings
this is fine. A Hypertext
Writing Guide given by M. Plonsky, PhD, of the University
of Wisconsin, Stevens Point may be helpful. The written report is due either December 2 or December
4, depending on when you present your oral report. Your notebook is due at the same time
(just before you give your talk).
The TA/Reader for the class is David Murfin (dmurfin@ucsd.edu). His office hours are 1-2pm Wednesday and Friday in EBUII room 370. See him there or email him for any questions you may have about the homework, exams, and your term project. Please contact Dave if you want to change the title of your project or discuss its content. Special office hours Wednesday Nov. 12 12 noon to 2 pm (Friday none).

Please bring one or two green scantron forms and a #2 pencil. The entire course will be covered, but emphasis will be on the Chapters not previously tested (13-15) plus guest and student presentations. Expect up to 100 questions.
