Project Evaluation

Guidelines
For each other groups (as identified by their group numbers), send to the instructor as a group (your own group) with
1. scores for both presentations and reports
(easiest for me if you simply have on each line, the group number and the two scores separated by commas)
2. public comments (to be posted verbatim anonymously)
3. optional confidential comments

Scores for presentations
  • 4 -- perfecto A
  • 3 -- good to very good B work
  • 2 -- so-so C work
  • 1 -- bad to sloppy work

  • Scores for reports
  • 14 -- perfecto
  • 12-13 -- very good to excellent, no "holes" with attention to detail, technical and quantitative results presented properly, complete coverage and thorough analysis (competitive judgment as there is no mandated timeline)
  • 9-11 -- good at places but spotty
  • 6-8 -- so-so work, more spotty than good
  • 5 and under -- bad sloppy work
  • Or you can elect to use a scoring sheet: in OpenOffice or Excel format.
  •   When your group evaluates the reports, divide the work load as in a review panel (we'll lighten the workload for your here). Example: each person is assigned, say, four reports as the primary reviewer, who is responsible for reading the reports very carefully. There must be some kind of overlap of the assignments so your team can compare notes. (And for us, it's also a trade-off of too much work versus not learning enough from your classmates.) Your group also needs to designate one primary reviewer for each report to write the comments.
When you do the grading, read/glance through all the reports quickly to gather some preliminary information before you focus on those to which you are responsible. Assign a score to a report if you are the primary reviewer. The group meets afterward to go over all the reports to reach a consensus on the final scores. The person responsible for the comments should now finalize the wording after the group discussion.
Rotate the assignment of the primary reviewers so each person gets to focus on different reports over the quarter.
